Sofia Dance Week 2013
5.10 – 19.10.2013
Contemporary dance defies the boundaries between genres, techniques, art forms and aesthetics. It turns rules and roles upside down, makes the impossible possible, and this is where its boldness and beauty reside. We do believe that contemporary dance is a powerful tool for self-knowledge and critical reflection of the world.
The programme features performances from Europe, Asia and America that demonstrate the different concepts of dance in an otherwise globalized world. The festival’s sixth has several modules: international program, Bulgarian showcase, dance films, children’s performances and workshops, workshops for students and professionals, lectures and discussions. These modules encompass the full spectrum of the dance environment – from introducing the youngest audiences to dance, to training, creating, perceiving and talking the art.
