A free performance for the whole family featuring 11 urban dance virtuosos from around the world, along with hip-hop, electro, breakdance, and new style dance classes, is offered in the first edition of the open-air program One Dance City. It kicks off in the city center on May 22, and the pilot edition includes classes led by artists from France, India, and the United Kingdom. The series of public events, aimed at all residents and visitors of Plovdiv, is organized by the team ONE Foundation with the support of the Municipality of Plovdiv.

On May 22 at 7:00 PM, on a special stage in front of Plovdiv Municipality, the performance “LEVEL UP” by French choreographer Amala Dianor will open the event. Inspired by the dance styles that have taken over social media and the younger generation, the show brings together 11 skilled dancers from around the world, creating an energetic journey through the latest dance variations from India, South Africa, France, and the USA. Breakdance, dancehall, hip-hop, and electro blend on the square in a spectacular mix that reminds us we can embrace our differences and celebrate life together.

May 22: Outdoor Stage in front of Plovdiv Municipality

Free program with dancers from all over the world:

18:00 – 18:45 – Urban dance class with Marion Alzieu

19:00 – 19:35LEVEL UP performance by Amala Dianor

19:35 – 20:20 – New style hip-hop class with Jordan John Hope

Before and after the LEVEL UP performance, everyone is welcome to join two 35-minute open dance classes led by artists from Dianor’s company — a multicultural team coming from Johannesburg to Kolkata and from Paris to Los Angeles.

The first class begins at 6:00 PM on May 22, led by Marion Alzieu, Amala Dianor’s creative assistant, who will introduce the audience to movements from the performance. After the show, a second class will follow — a new style hip-hop session led by Jordan John Hope. This style expands on traditional hip-hop by incorporating energetic movements of the arms, chest, and elements from other genres.

On May 23 and 24, the program continues with pre-registration dance classes in dramaturgy, improvisation, Indian waacking, and South African pantsula. The full program is available at the provided link.
